Hilary Hemingway shares uncle’s Cuban life



The fourth annual Sun Valley Ernest Hemingway Festival celebrated the notable author’s life in Cuba with a film, talks by Hemingway scholars and a well-attended fiesta at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum. The festival kicked off on Thursday, Sept. 25, at The Community School Theatre in Sun Valley with Ernest’s niece, Hilary Hemingway, as keynote speaker and presenter for the documentary film “Hemingway in Cuba,†which Hilary wrote, produced and directed for PBS. The film featured Hilary’s husband, Jeff Lindsay, as the on-camera narrator. The documentary explored Ernest’s homeâ€â€Finca Vigíaâ€â€his marriages, his love for marlin fishing on his boatâ€â€Ã¢â‚¬Å“Pilarâ€Ââ€â€and completing “The Old Man and the Sea,†which garnered him a Pulitzer Prize.
