Say no to the nuke plant

I am writing to inform people about the upcoming meetings scheduled to be in Mountain Home. Alternative Energy Holdings Inc. has submitted its application to rezone agricultural land to heavy (M2) industrial, for the purpose of constructing a nuclear power plant. This plant would be built beside the Snake River, just five miles from the small town of Hammett, 10 miles from Mountain Home and 65 miles from Boise.

We desperately need everyone to come to the meetings, or simply to write a letter, explaining that you are against the building of another nuclear plant.

Just because you don't live in Elmore County doesn't mean you won't be affected. This nuclear power plant has the potential to affect everyone. There is no invisible wall to protect you from potential harm.

Sitting above the banks of the Snake River, this proposed plant could send potential hazards down into this river, spreading health endangerment and fatal peril along its path (as well as along the Columbia River) and killing fish. If something goes wrong, it can spread out to the populace, causing illness and even death. Please take a moment to write to the Elmore County Growth and Development Department and tell them you are against this plant.
