Kids and parents will learn more about ice hockey and the program offered by Sun Valley Youth Hockey Association (SVYHA) at next week's "Learn to Skate" introductory sessions for ages 5-8, 9-11 and 12-and-up at Sun Valley Skating Center.

"Give Hockey a Try," is the theme of the free sessions at Sun Valley Indoor Ice Rink. Hockey gear of all sizes will be available for use. Adult supervision will be provided. Visit www.svyha.com for details.

Kids ages 5-8 will meet Saturday, Sept. 27 from 4-5 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 29 from 5-6 p.m. Those ages 9-11 will gather Wednesday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 27 from 5-6 p.m.

Older youngsters ages 12-and-up meet Wednesday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 27, 6-7 p.m. each night.

Kids should wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts. They should bring hockey gear, a sports helmet (bike helmet, etc.) and winter gloves.

"Learn to Skate" sessions are produced in cooperation with Sun Valley Co., Hailey Ice, Park Penguins and Blaine County Recreation District. The sessions are made possible by a USA Hockey "Grow the Game" matching grant.
