Sun Valley police zapped an allegedly unruly man with an electroshock Taser weapon last week at the Sun Valley Inn.

Police identified the suspect as Stanley Hough, a 46-year-old York, Pa., man who was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault, battery, malicious injury to property and resisting and obstructing arrest. Sun Valley Police Chief Cameron Daggett said Hough was a guest at the Sun Valley Inn and was attending "K-12" education convention when he apparently "freaked out" just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

"He just kind of went berserk in the hallway," said Daggett. "We had a naked crazy man and we ended up tasing and arresting him."

Daggett said Hough was allegedly "yelling and screaming" and broke the glass on a fire extinguisher cabinet. He further said that before police arrived that Hough was "throwing broken glass, yelling and spitting and making threats" at inn security personnel before they were able to pin him to the floor.

When police arrived, "my officer told him to stay down, but Mr. Hough got up and started threatening my officer and he ended up getting tased."

Daggett said Hough was transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center before he was taken to the Blaine County Jail.

"And he has since bonded out of jail." Daggett said Monday.

Daggett said the hospital reported that Hough had a "very high level of alcohol" in his system.

"I don't know why he freaked out," Daggett said. "Sometimes drunks just go crazy."
