The reward has jumped again for information leading to the driver who killed a dog in Hailey earlier this month in a hit-and-run accident on the bike path.

The reward started at $500, increased to $2,000 last week and stood at $3,575 on Monday.

"Hopefully it's getting up there high enough so someone will do it for the money," said Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter.

Hanna, a 5-year-old chocolate Labrador, was killed around 11 p.m. on the bike path near the intersection of Fifth and Silver streets by a vehicle speeding down the path with its lights off. Ken Martin, Hanna's owner, reported to Hailey police that he barely jumped off the path to avoid the vehicle but that Hanna didn't make it.

The reward is payable for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver. Information can be provided to the Hailey Police Department at 788-3531.

"We've followed up on one lead but it didn't pan out," Gunter said. "Hopefully, something else will happen."
