Led by Megan Hayes, Racheal McGinnis, Taylor Coiner, Michael Coiner and Elizabeth Fry, the Wood River High School girls' swim team amassed 403 points to win Saturday's 12-team Twin Falls High School Invitational meet.
McGinnis won the gold in the 50 free and 100 back races. Hayes was the 100 and 200 free winner. Taylor Coiner captured second place in girls' 200 free and Fry was second in 100 breast. The Wood River girls also won the 200 free relay.
It was Wood River's second straight girls' team win, this one by a 72-point margin over runner-up Idaho Falls High. Meanwhile, the Wood River boys' team (258 points) placed third in a close team race behind Twin Falls (292) and Hillcrest of Idaho Falls (279).
Jon Atkinson, Max Jones and Gene Fairbrother led the boys to third of 12 teams.
Next meet is a home tri-meet with Pocatello and Twin Falls Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Wood River Community YMCA pool in Ketchum.
