Two 13-year-old Hailey boys face felony burglary charges for allegedly stealing a purse last week from a car parked on east Croy Street in Hailey.

The theft allegedly took place at about 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said witnesses saw the boys acting suspiciously in the area and provided descriptions. The juveniles were spotted later that evening in the Albertsons grocery store parking lot.

They were questioned and the purse was recovered and returned to its owner, Gunter said.

The value of the purse contents was not available. Gunter said the car, a black Honda, was likely not locked.

Gunter said the boys were later released to the custody of their parents.
