Fighting cancer, one tournament at a time

Danny Thompson golfers return to Sun Valley


Ideal late-summer weather greeted 220 golfers in last week's 32nd annual Danny Thompson Memorial golf tournament, a four-day charity meet for cancer and leukemia research. Stroking a practice putt at Sun Valley with a Baldy backdrop is five-time All-Pro football player Jerry Kramer, 72, from Eagle, Idaho, the famed Green Bay Packers right guard who cleared the way for Bart Starr in the "Ice Bowl." Kramer was a member of five Green Bay NFL title teams.
