Lee Gilman Builders 23, Elevate/Stafftopia 8 (4 innings)

Lee Gilman (17 hits) captured its first win of the season as everybody hit—including Nick Gilman 2 doubles, Sara Gilman 2 hits and 2 runs, Kurt Funkhouser 3-run HR, Lindsey Woodcock 2 hits and 2 runs, Jason Haase triple and double. Elevate/Stafftopia: Keith Bailey 2 hits (triple) and Travis Thelan 3 hits (2 doubles, HR).

KECH/Bald Mtn. Realty 19, Cowboy Cochina/View Point 14

Trailing 7-3, KECH scored 9 runs in the second and added 4 big runs in the fifth to hold off the Nelsons—Brandon Hughes belting a 3-run HR. KECH: Buddy Peterson 5 hits (2 doubles) and 3 runs, Sean Harrington 2 doubles and 3 runs, Jeff Heinecke 3 hits and 3 runs. Cowboy: Joe Lamana 4 hits (2 doubles) and 4 runs, Kenny Nelson 3 hits (2 doubles) and 2 runs, Gio Tognoni HR, Ryan Stavros 2 hits (double, HR), Justin Herald double and triple, Morgan Uhrig 2 triples.

Casino 14, Firefighters 13 (8 innings)

One of the most exciting games of the tournament. The Casino led 8-0 after three innings, but the Firefighters came roaring back with 3 runs in the fourth, a 3-run HR by Pat McGee (3 hits, 6 RBI) in the fourth and 4 more runs in the sixth to grab a 10-9 lead. Stunned, the Casino steadied itself in the home seventh when leadoff hitter Joe Reali (5 hits, 2 doubles) led off with a double and scored on a two-out RBI single by Donovan Matteson (3 hits). That tied the score 10-10 and sent the outcome into extra innings. And it looked like the Firefighters might complete their amazing comeback when they scored 3 runs in the visitor eighth—Richard Williams (3 hits, 2 runs), Karly Maratea (2 hits) and Matt Christian (3 hits, 2 runs) all ripping hits, and McGee hitting a 2-run single. Trailing 13-10, the Casino got three straight hits by Dave Penn, Jill Morse (2 hits) and Craig Morse (3 hits, triple, 2 runs). Austin Bristow delivered an RBI single and Kristin Derrig hit a clutch 2-run single. The game ended when Reali belted an RBI single plating Bristow with the winner. Casino: Mark Belanger 2-run HR, Matt Stacey 2 hits and 2 runs. Firefighters: Tyler Corrock (2 runs) and Pam Rudolph 3 hits apiece, Jillian Storm 2 hits and 2 runs.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 8, Principal Recruiting/Group Six 7

Behind 7-4 in the home sixth, Lefty's brought the top of its batting order to the plate and it delivered—Buffalo Rixon (2 hits, 2 runs) and Brenda Blackwell starting it off with singles, Wendy Speth hitting a sacrifice fly to make it 7-5, Bryan Speth lining an RBI triple for a 7-6 game and Jen Copeland Embree driving Speth home with a two-out, RBI single for a 7-7 tie. Lefty's pitcher Tony Mallane enticed three Principal fly balls in the visitor seventh. Then, with two gone in the home seventh, Mallane (3 hits) doubled and scored the winning run on a two-out single by Nicole Buchwalter. Lefty's: Dave Hausmann 2 doubles, Calysta Phillips 2 hits. Principal Recruiting: Geoff Gardner 2 hits (double), Tom Moreland 2 hits (double) and 2 runs, Sue Mulcahy 2 hits.

Color Haus/Bishop Builders 27, Lee Gilman Builders 2 (5 innings)

In their first tournament game, the eventual champions (31 hits) made short work of Lee Gilman (6 hits). Chris Hoshaw (5 hits, 4 runs, 2 HR, triple, double, 9 RBI) hit for the cycle and clouted a grand slam homer. Color Haus: Bryan Burrell 5 hits (triple) and 5 runs, Sarah Benson 3 hits (double) and 5 runs, Josh Jacobson HR, Jeff Burrell 3 hits (2 doubles), 3 runs and 4 RBI, Shannon Webb 4 hits and 2 runs. Lee Gilman: Nick Gilman 2 hits.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 21, KECH/Bald Mtn. Realty 8

Lefty's (22 hits) scored in bunches including a 7-run second, 7-run third and 5-run fifth. Lefty's: Buffalo Rixon 3 hits and 4 runs, Brenda Blackwell 2 hits and 3 runs, Anthony Anderson 4-for-4 with 3 HR and 7 RBI, Bryan Speth 3 hits (triple), Dave Hausmann 4 hits (double) and 2 runs, Tony Mallane 3 hits (double) and 2 runs. KECH: Buddy Peterson 2-run HR, Sean Harrington 4 hits (2-run HR, double) and 2 runs, Kate Heinecke 3 hits, Molly McCredy 2 hits (double).

Color Haus/Bishop Builders 13, Casino 12

Color Haus/Bishop dodged a bullet by keeping its cool after a hot start by the Casino, coming off its dramatic extra-inning victory over the Firefighters. The Casino batted around and scored 7 runs in the first, Joe Reali (2 hits), Gretchen Wagner and Matt Stacey starting off the big frame with three straight hits. Color Haus chipped away and inched ahead 10-9 by sending 12 batters to the plate in a 6-run fourth. The winners added the decisive 3 runs in the fifth sparked by a one-out single by Bonnie Burrell (2 hits) and an RBI single by Sarah Benson (3 hits, 3 runs). The Casino made it a one-run game with 2 runs in the seventh but stranded the tying run at second. Color Haus: Chris Hoshaw 4 hits and 2 runs, Josh Jacobson 4 hits (HR). Casino: Craig Morse 3 hits and 2 runs, Austin Bristow 3 hits (double), Joe Reali 2 hits (double).

Color Haus/Bishop Builders 14, Lefty's Bar & Grill 6

Trailing 4-2 in the second, Color Haus erupted for 7 runs on 7 hits with Chris Hoshaw delivering a 3-run HR followed by doubles off the bats of Twyla Bulcher (2 hits) and Josh Jacobson (4 hits, 2 runs). The winners added 5 runs in the fourth, Jeff Burrell (3 hits) socking a two-out RBI triple. Color Haus: Josh Jacobson 4 hits (2 doubles) and 2 runs, Shannon Webb 2 hits and 2 runs, Bryan Burrell 3 hits (HR). Lefty's: 2 hits each by Buffalo Rixon (2 runs), Bryan Speth (2 doubles) and Dave Hausmann.

Cowboy Cochina/View Point 22, Elevate/Stafftopia 1 (5 innings)

Ryan Stavros (4 hits, HR, 2 doubles, 3 runs) had the big bat in the 20-hit Nelson attack that ended Stafftopia's season. Cowboy Cochina: Joe Lamana 3 hits (double) and 3 runs, Dani Stone 3 hits (double) and 3 runs, Kenny Nelson 3 hits (HR, double) and 3 runs, Jamie Stone HR and triple, Justin Herald 3 hits (HR, double) and 2 runs. Stafftopia: Travis Thelan double, Jen Biondi (1 run).

Firefighters 36, Lee Gilman Builders 7 (5 innings)

Leading the Firefighters (28 hits) rout were Tyler Corrock (4-for-6, 3 runs), Jillian Storm (3 hits, 2 HR, double, 4 runs) and Pat McGee (5 hits, 3 HR, 2 triples, 5 runs), Karly Maratea (3 hits, 5 runs) and Matt Christian (4 hits, 4 runs). The 1-2-3-4-5 Firefighter hitters went 19-for-24 with 21 runs scored. Firefighters: Bryan Tuohy 3 hits (HR, 2 doubles), Michelle Erdie 3 runs, Ed Binnie 3 hits (triple, double) and 3 runs, Pam Rudolph 2 hits and 4 runs. Lee Gilman: Katie Dondero 2 runs, Nick Gilman 2 hits and 2 runs.

Cowboy Cochina/View Point 16, Principal Recruiting/Group Six 12

The Nelsons put together a 6-run, 7-hit second and 8-run fourth to build a 14-6 lead. Cowboy Cochina: Justin Herald 2 hits (triple) and 3 runs, Brian Nelson 2 doubles, Syringa Stark 2 hits and 2 runs, Jamie Stone 2 hits (double) and 2 runs. Principal Recruiting: Kellee Havens 3 hits (2 doubles) and 3 runs, Sue Mulcahy 3 hits and 2 runs, Rod Watson 3 hits (double) and 3 runs, Jim Carlsen 2 hits, Nic Thomas 2 hits (double).

Firefighters 17, KECH/Bald Mtn. Realty 1 (5 innings)

The Firefighters (20 hits) continued their torrid hitting spearheaded by Pat McGee (4 hits, HR, 4 runs), Tyler Corrock (3 hits, double, 3 runs) and Jillian Storm (3 hits, double, 3 runs). KECH: Sean Harrington inside-the-park HR, Benjy Walker 2 hits (double).

Cowboy Cochina/View Point 13, Casino 10

Posting their third and final win of the tournament were the Nelsons, pushing across 4 runs on 5 hits in the visitor seventh and retiring the dangerous Casino 3-4-5 batters 1-2-3 in the home seventh. Featured in the game-winning rally was a leadoff hit by Syringa Stark, a double by leadoff hitter Joe Lamana (3 hits, 2 runs), a one-out, 2-run triple by Kenny Nelson (3 hits, 2 runs), a two-out RBI double by Gio Tognoni (3 hits, 2 runs) and a run-scoring single by Shanell Barth that plated Tognoni with the eventual winner. Cowboy Cochina: Angie Clark 3 hits and 2 runs, Justin Herald double, triple and 4 RBI. Casino: Joe Reali 3 hits (triple, double) and 2 runs, Matt Stacey 3 hits (double), Donovan Matteson 2 hits and 2 runs, Jill Morse and Craig Morse 2 hits apiece.

Firefighters 12, Cowboy Cochina/View Point 9

Another big outing for the hose busters, led as always by Pat McGee (3 hits, HR, triple, 4 runs), Jillian Storm (2 hits, 2 runs), Karly Maratea (3 hits, 2 runs) and Matt Christian (3 hits, 2 runs). Trailing 7-1 in the home fourth, the Firefighters bounced back with 3 in the fourth, 2 in the fifth and 6 big runs on 7 hits in the sixth. Cowboy Cochina: Joe Lamana 3 hits (double) and 2 runs, Justin Herald 3 hits (triple) and 3 runs, Brian Nelson 2 hits (double) and 2 RBI, Morgan Uhrig RBI triple.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 18, Firefighters 4

Lefty's made it to the championship game with a 21-hit attack, the big explosion coming with a 9-run, 10-hit second. Anthony Anderson (2 hits, 4 RBI) belted a 2-run triple in the big frame and Buffalo Rixon (3 hits, 3 runs, 3 RBI) added a 2-run single. Lefty's also had a big contribution from its #11 and #12 batters, Tucker Hall (3 hits, 3 runs) and Jen Copeland Embree (3 hits, 3 runs) going 6-for-6 with 6 runs scored. Lefty's: Wendy Speth 2 hits, Dave Hausmann 3 hits (double) and 4 runs. Firefighters: 2 hits apiece by Matt Christian (triple), Ed Binnie and Kelly McGarry.
