The Matsiko Children's Choir, a touring group that raises funds for the International Children's Network, will perform this week and next in an around Sun Valley.

The International Children's Network creates sponsorship opportunities for orphans and children living in extreme poverty in several countries, including Guatemala, Peru and Uganda.

The choir has preformed all over the West Coast. Individuals sponsor every child in the choir through the International Children's Network.

The choir will continue its tour of the United States through the end of the year, when it will return to Uganda. In the meantime, its members need many simple items such as toothbrushes and soap.

"A Child's Giving Tree has been set up for them, and we are encouraging our local children to help give to these children," said Ketchum resident Mary Poppen.

To obtain a gift tag, and to donate items, visit The Music Garden at 251 S. Main St., Ketchum, or The Toy Store in Ketchum and Hailey, or e-mail Mary Poppen at music-mp@hotmail.com.
