WR Youth Football starts 10th season Monday

Equipment checkout and practice

The 10th season of Wood River Youth Football begins Monday, Aug. 11 with equipment checkout and practice at Wood River Middle School's Chuck Turner Field in Hailey.

The 12-year-old team has its equipment checkout at 4:30 p.m., the 11-year-olds at 5 p.m., the flag football players (7-8) and 10-year-olds at 5:30 p.m., and 9-year-old players at 6 p.m.

A vendor will be set up for purchasing the required mouth guards and football cleats for families that need them.

Interested players who didn't sign up this past May should get more information from the Web site woodriveryouthfootball.com, and arrive at the north side of the Middle School gym Monday at 5 p.m. with a copy of their birth certificate and insurance details.

Teams are based on age and weight. Flag football (ages 7-8) costs $55. Tackle football (ages 9-12) is $135 including equipment. First games are Sept. 5.
