Wiseguy Pizza fracas leads to arrest

By TERRY SMITH
Express Staff Writer

A 25-year-old Hailey man was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly injured a 65-year-old Utah man at Wiseguy Pizza Pie in downtown Hailey.

Hailey police identified the suspect as Nicholas Stavros, who was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. The alleged victim was transported by Wood River Fire and Rescue ambulance to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center where he was treated for "lacerations" and released, said Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter.

Police were called to a disturbance at the restaurant at about 7 p.m.

Gunter said Stavros was "using profanity inside the restaurant and he ended up pushing a man against a wall." The chief said other restaurant patrons held Stavros on the floor until police arrived and made the arrest.

"Alcohol was definitely involved," Gunter said.
