A Fairfield man faces a charge of felony DUI after he crashed his 1997 Ford pickup last Saturday evening on Camp Creek Road in the mountains west of Hailey.

"It looks like he went off the road and down a ravine, Blaine County Sheriff's Lt. Jay Davis said of 57-year-old Charles Greg Litschke.

Davis said Litschke has a previous felony DUI conviction.

Sheriff's deputies and Wood River Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene of the mishap at 8:30 p.m.

Davis said Litschke was not seriously injured in the accident and initially declined to be transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center. Later, at the hospital, Litschke was "uncooperative and belligerent" but eventually submitted to a blood-alcohol test, which he failed, Davis said.

"Once he was cleared medically, he was arrested for DUI," Davis said.
