Triathletes finish YMCA Spudman

In Boise

Hailey's Susan Gundy finished second in her Women's 50-54 class during Saturday's 23rd annual YMCA Spudman Triathlon on a 51.5-kilometer (31.9-mile) course in Boise. The course featured a 1.5k swim, 40k bike race and 10k run.

Gundy finished 127th overall with a final time of three hours, 10 minutes and 3.9 seconds. Her splits were 39:18 swim, 1.33:42 bike and 57:03 run. She was the 30th woman.

Individual winners were Kevin Everett of Boise in 1.59:31 and Rachel Corey of Boise in 2.33:38.

Ketchum's Matt Wellner was 13th in the Men's 30-34 age class at 2.48:27 with splits of 32:57, 1.22:04 and 53:25.

Team Gundy (Dave Gundy of Boise, Moses Mexia of Hailey, Randy McNeil of Boise) ended up second in the Team Male Division with a time of 2.21:22 including splits of 28:18 swim, 1.05:57 bike and 47:07 run. The winning team had 2.19:23.

Another athlete with local ties, Jessica Gundy of Logan, Utah, finished fourth in Women's 25-29 at 2.51:21.
