It was nip-and-tuck all the way in the fight for second place with unbeaten Color Haus taking the week off. KECH jumped ahead 3-0 with 5 hits in the first—Shannon Flavin (3 hits, double) ripping a 2-run single and Josh Bay (3 doubles) delivering an RBI double. The Nelsons battled back with 3 runs in the second and 3 runs on 4 hits in the decisive sixth, Angie Clark bringing home the eventual winning run with a sacrifice fly. Nelsons: Shanell Barth 2 hits, Kenny Nelson 2 hits and 2 runs, Morgan Uhrig 2 doubles and 2 runs, Gio Tognoni 3 hits (2 doubles). KECH: Danny Maloney 2 hits (triple), Annie Byerly 2 hits and 2 runs, Sean Harrington 2-run HR and 3 RBI, Molly McReedy 2 hits, Buddy Peterson 3 hits (double).

Casino 21, Elevate/Stafftopia 3 (5 innings)

Casino captured its fourth win with a 23-hit attack, piecing together back-to-back 8-run innings in the second and third to seal the run-rule triumph. Leadoff hitter Mark Belanger (4 doubles, 3 runs) led the way and #3 hitter Matt Stacey (4 runs) shredded the ball with bases-clearing HRs his first two trips and an inside-the-park job his third time up. Casino: Gretchen Webster, Gary Moser and Jill Morse 2 hits and 2 runs apiece, Mike Torres 2 hits (double) and 2 runs, Donovan Matteson 2 hits (double) and 2 runs, Joyce Fogg 2 runs and Lisa Valdama 2 hits. Stafftopia: Jeff Rust 2 hits (triple), Joan Biondi double.

Lefty's Bar & Grill 16, Principal Recruiting/Group Six 11

The scrap for the middle-of-the-pack came down to Lefty's just having a little more gas in the tank in the final three innings—Lefty's scoring 10 runs on 13 hits in its final three at-bats to overcome an 8-6 deficit. The big Lefty's hitters on the night were Dave Hausmann (3 hits, 2 doubles, 3 runs) and Kyle Rushton (4 hits, 2 doubles, HR, 4 runs). Lefty's: Wendy Speth 2 hits (3-run double), Levie Smith 2 hits and 2 runs, Tawni Baker 3 hits, Calysta Phillips 2 runs, Buffalo Rixon 2 hits. Group Six: Geoff Gardner 3 hits (triple, double), Sue Mulcahy 2 hits, Tom Moreland 4 hits (HR, 3 doubles, 2 runs, 4 RBI), Rod Watson HR and 3 RBI, Eric Wingard 3 hits, Heather Linhart 2 hits.

Firefighters 28, Lee Gilman Builders 0 (4 innings)

The Firefighters (24 hits) batted around in their 10-hit, 10-run first, sending 14 batters to the plate, and then batted around again in the second for 6 runs on 6 hits. Leadoff hitter Matt Christian (5 hits, triple, 4 runs) set the table for his team's second win of the season, followed by #2 hitter Karly Maratea (2 hits, 2 runs). Reaching base 5 times was #4 hitter Jillian Storm (2 hits, 2 runs). The bottom of the order was productive as well. Austin Needs cleared the sacks with a round-tripper his first time up. Others: Tyler Corrock 2 hits (triple) and 2 runs, Kelly McGarry 4 runs, Pam Rudolph 2 hits and 2 runs, Linda McMahon HR and 2 runs, Pat McGee 2 hits (double) and 2 runs, Becky Simpson 2 runs, Keith Potter 2 hits. Collecting the Gilman hits were Steve Thornton, Nick Gilman and Kate Weihe.
