Fourth of July a crowd pleaser

Valley rocks out to parades, shows

Friday was a wonderful day in the Wood River Valley. The weather was great, and July 4th activities, such as Hailey’s parade, rodeo, fireworks display, first-ever bike criterium and Ketchum’s Fourth on Fourth concert featuring Reckless Kelly were witnessed by huge, happy crowds. Above, a beautiful, Cinderella-like float pulled by a handsome draft horse and carrying the Red Hat Sassy Lassies Club was an audience pleaser. Right, more than 3,000 people watched Reckless Kelly at the Fourth on Fourth celebration. The Ketchum Shoot-Out gang performed a loud, raucous and popular rendition of the evil Black-Jack-versus-good-sheriff routine in front of the Mint bar just prior to Hailey’s parade. Above, parade viewing in the hot sun is a lot of work. Luke Hebert, son of Monica and Andrew Hebert, Hailey was a tired and tuckered-out toddler after the parade and was able to catch some shut-eye on a friendly Windermere Real Estate office couch.
