Bicyclist injured in downtown Hailey

A 70-year-old bicyclist received what police described as minor injuries after she was struck by a vehicle early Friday evening in downtown Hailey.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Patricia Faur, of Hailey. She was struck by a red Audi driven by Grant Melville, a 27-year-old Hailey man, at about 6:30 p.m. while Melville was pulling out of the parking lot at the Chevron station on Main Street.

The sheriff's office report stated that Faur sustained "minor scratches on her arm, a small cut on her knee and bruises."

Sheriff's Lt. Curtis Miller said Faur was riding her bicycle on the sidewalk and Melville was attempting to turn south onto Main Street when the collision occurred.

The accident was investigated by the sheriff's office because Faur is the mother-in-law of Hailey police investigator Larry Clark, said Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter.

Miller said Monday that no citations had been issued but the accident was still being investigated.
