DUI patrols planned for July 2-7

The Idaho Transportation Department reminds drivers that law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be targeting impaired drivers July 2-7.

"Water recreation and vehicle patrols will be intensified around popular boating destinations in addition to other locations throughout the state," said Kevin Bechen, of ITD's Office of Highway Operations and Safety.

Driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher is illegal in Idaho. The limit is .02 for drivers under 21. ITD reported that driving skills start to deteriorate at about .05.
