Bellevue property manager Robert Holmes was sworn in by Mayor Jon Anderson last week for a three-year term on the city's Planning and Zoning Commission. In his role, Holmes will assist the city in reviewing proposed developments, subdivisions and zoning changes.
"I'm pro-growth," Holmes said Friday, after the appointment. "I would like to see some annexations that are on the table right now be approved. This would be good for business owners and good for the city."
Holmes' day job is working as a property manager with Ronald J. Sharp Inc. He currently oversees 12 businesses in Bellevue Square, on Main Street. He said he is especially pleased to be working with P&Z Administrator Craig Eckles, who oversaw the development of Bellevue Square a few years ago.
"Craig is a great asset to this city, "he said. "He makes life real easy for a lot of us."
Eckles said Monday that the city of Bellevue is currently reviewing a proposed annexation within Slaughterhouse Canyon, which could bring 205 residences into the city. The 100-acre Strahorn/Slaughterhouse annexation proposal is located northeast of the city.
