Sports Summary

SVMABL men's baseball league is back

Commissioner Curtis Bacca has announced the 13th season of the Sun Valley Men's Adult Baseball League, in its sixth season in wood bat format.

Bacca is planning an eight-week season including playoffs, starting July 14 and continuing through Sept. 14. All games are at Founders Field in Hailey, mostly on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The league draft will be Monday, July 7. Plans call for four teams with at least nine players on each team. This year's player fee has been reduced $20 to $165 in order to encourage more players.

Last year there were 42 players, which stretched thin the four-team format. If there are fewer than 48 players this year, there will be only three teams. All players must be paid in full before the draft is held.

Contact Paul Creighton at 450-9087 or Brian Nelson 720-7495. And be sure to email Bacca (720-0704) to confirm your interest.
