Blaze girls head to Twin for softball meet

Terror Invitational for 12-and-unders

The summer tournament season is just starting for the Wood River Blaze 12-and-under girls' fast-pitch softball team.

Sponsored by Sawtooth Plumbing and Heating, the Blaze All-Stars are headed to Twin Falls for the seven-team 11th annual Terror Invitational tournament today, Friday and Saturday, June 14.

The Blaze has two games today—against Magic Valley Explosion at 1:30 p.m. and Snake River Hysteria at 3 p.m. Then the double elimination portion of the two-day meet begins Saturday. The Blaze will have at least two more games.

Next month, over the July 12-13 weekend, the Blaze travels to the first annual Spartan Fest tournament at Rupert.

Head coach is Don Cooper and team sponsor is Ted Higginbotham, owner of Sawtooth Plumbing and Heating.

Players include Hailey Hulette, Brittney Bradley, Shelby Cooper, Gigi Gibson, Sadie Dawson, Riana Santos, Raylin Lyons, Cassidy Cooper, Cicely Peavey, Jessica Richardson, Ashley Hicks and Larissa Roberts. Assistant coach is former Wood River High School softball player LeighAndra Roberts.
