Heat meet is breezy for SV5B swimmers

Slew of placings for locals


Windy conditions buffeted swimmers at the two-day Summer Heat Meet in Twin Falls last Saturday and Sunday at the Twin Falls YMCA 50-meter pool.

Despite the conditions, SV5B swimmers hauled in a slew of first and second places.

Gold medalists were Sarah Brown, 15, 200 fly; Michael Coiner, 16, 200 back with a silver in 400 free; Forrest Davis, 13, in 100 and 200 breast, with silver in 50 free and 100 back; Kaedi Fry, 11, in 50 breast, with silver in 100 and 200 Free;

Also, Megan Hayes, 16, 400 free, with silver in 200 IM and 100 back; and Racheal McGinnis, 17, 50 free and 100 back, with silver in 100 and 200 free.

Lena Friesen, 13, grabbed silver in all six of her events—50, 200 and 400 free, 200 back, 200 IM and 100 breast.

Other best place finishes were: Jon Atkinson, 16—4th 50 free and 6th 100 free; Tayler Bates, 12—3rd 50 back and 200 free; Sarah Brown, 15—3rd 100 fly, 7th 200 IM; Michael Coiner, 16—5th 200 IM and 6th 100 back; Taylor Coiner, 16—3rd 200 IM and 4th 400 free; Forrest Davis, 13—3rd 200 back and 200 free;

Elizabeth Fry, 13—3rd 100 breast, 5th 100 fly and 100 free; Megan Hayes, 16—4th 100 free and 6th 200 free; Racheal McGinnis, 17—5th 100 breast; Zoey Olbum, 15—7th 200 breast; Adam Potts, 14—4th 100 free and 200 back, 5th 50 free and 200 free; Kelsey Syms, 12—4th 50 breast and 5th 100 free; Colby Werley, 13—6th 100 free; Esther Williams, 16—8th 100 breast.
