Part-time Wood River Valley resident John F. Hogan Jr., 77, passed peacefully from his battle with cancer. John had many friends worldwide, as well as in San Francisco, at his winter home in Ketchum, Idaho, and on Orcas Island, Wash.
John founded Hogan Associates in 1962, specializing in food processing development in underdeveloped and Asian Rim countries. At one time, Hogan Associates was the major import supplier of freeze-dried mushrooms to the U.S. food service industry, and John was dubbed "Mr. Mushroom."
In 1994, John sold his importation business and began his new career in personal investment properties.
Services will be held in San Francisco, Ketchum and Orcas Island. Friends are encouraged to contact his San Francisco office for details.
Donations in John's memory may be made to California Pacific Medical Center, where he received the best of care and attention from the wonderful nursing staff at 5N.
