Call for volunteers

The Sun Valley Renaissance Faire will take place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23-24, in the Sun Valley Festival Meadow. The event is an all-volunteer project of the Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival, produced yearly by nexStage Theatre in Ketchum.

Event producers are seeking enthusiastic people of all ages who are actors or thespians to portray "Ketchingham" townsfolk in a 16th-century Shakespearean "country faire" setting.

In addition, there are volunteer opportunities available for building and painting sets and props, as well as for sewing projects, which include working on costumes, banners and flags. Volunteers will attend a dress rehearsal the week before the fair opens and have scheduled shifts during the fair.

All volunteers will receive free passes to use or give away to family and friends, tickets to the Shakespeare Festival production of "Much Ado About Nothing," food during the fair weekend, help with costuming, and participation in actor training sessions and cast and crew social events.

For acting and crew positions, the Sun Valley Renaissance Faire will participate in any program for community service, classroom or internship credit. If a charitable organization would like to provide a group of volunteers for a particular area, the fair can support the organization through free advertising and other means of support.
