"Viva Las Vegas" was the theme and "Elvis" was the special guest for the second annual "Chip-In" for The Advocates benefit golf tournament" staged Monday, May 19 at Blue Lakes Country Club in Twin Falls.

Golfers dressed up and stuffed the "Elvis" blue suede shoes with green to motivate Blue Lakes assistant pro Aaron Casteleyn, dressed as "Elvis," to drive the green on the 350-yard par 4 hole #3.

The tournament was a huge success, raising over $25,000 for The Advocates. Event coordinators Pete and Janet Cantor along with Dick and Joanne Wetherell and Rick Davis worked since last October to secure sponsors and plan the one-day event for four-person teams. Entry fee was $150 per player, limited to 80 players.

Golfers were treated to prizes on different holes. Top sponsors were Joe's Backhoe and Sweetwater, LLC in Hailey. The Sweetwater sales staff presented hats, tees and Advocates-logoed playing cards.

Format was everybody hitting a tee shot, then players rolling a die to pick the drive and continue playing their own ball in from that point. There was a shotgun start.
