On resort courses

The Dollar Mountain parking lot is the staging area for Saturday's fourth annual US Half Marathon/Sun Valley event, expected to draw more than 150 runners to the Idaho mountain resort over Memorial Day weekend.

Courses offered include the 13.1-mile half marathon distance (starting at 9 a.m.), the 12-kilometer (7.4-mile, 9:30 a.m.) run and the 5k (3.1-mile, 9:30 a.m.) route—all proceeding along pavement in the resort.

Also planned at 11 a.m. is a kids' event with short courses. They are 100 yards for ages 4-5, 200 yards for ages 6-7 and 400 yards for the 8-9 age group.

Packet pickup is today, Friday from 3-6 p.m. at Sun Valley Inn. Or you can collect your packet and register Saturday from 7:30-8:30 a.m. There will be prizes for top runners.

Saturday's event is produced in partnership with the Sun Valley-Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau and Sun Valley Wellness Festival. Sign up at ushalf.athleteslounge.com.
