Valley’s spirit has helped

This is not just another "thank you." I wish I could express my sincere appreciation to the fourth-grade students, parents, and faculty at Hailey Elementary. My family is truly blessed to be surrounded my caring and compassionate friends and teachers. The lessons our children learn today will carry them through high school and into their adult lives. Paula Doub is "The Valley's Best." I give the fourth-grade restaurants an A++, and to my server, I love you!

An additional thank you to the Valley of Peace Lutheran Church and to our close friends—thank you for unconditional love and support. My battle with cancer seems to be ongoing. The emotional and financial battle seems non-ending. In the last two years, I have only had a few weeks without treatment. When I see the encouragement from 10-year-old children, it seems to make my decision to keep fighting easy. I love this valley, not only the wonderful air and outdoor activities, but, mostly, the residents.

The honest interest in our children's welfare is tremendous. The Blaine County Recreation Department stands in a class of its own. How fortunate we are to be able to expose our children to so many sporting activities.

I hold my head high when I say I live in the Wood River Valley. Thanks for all the support. To my family, thanks for being so insightful to my needs; without your love, cancer would have won a long time ago. I won't give up if you don't give up!
