Hailey Yoga Center has got the bends

By SABINA DANA PLASSE
Express Staff Writer

Opening the heart center brings courage and energy to one's mind and body. The Hailey Yoga Center will explore the heart center and its response through a two-day, back-bending workshop. The workshop is to open the chest and help spine flexibility. Back bends help to clear the mind, free the heart and combat depression.

Taught by Boise Yoga Center's Vickie Aldridge, the workshop is open to all levels of yoga practice. Aldridge is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor with more than 30 years of yoga experience. She studied with Inengar yogis in the United States and India.

Aldridge is co-owner of Boise Yoga Center with her husband, Jerry, and also teaches yoga at Boise State University. In addition, Aldridge served on the staff of the Idaho Rehabilitation & Pain Center, where she taught yoga to chronic pain patients. She also taught yoga at St. Alphonsus Ambulatory & Rehabilitative Services, creating private yoga programs for a variety of patients.

Aldridge has been a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists for 15 years.
