Band kids were good example

Recently, our family had the opportunity to chaperone the Wood River High School Music Department's trip to Anaheim, Calif., to compete in the Heritage Festival Music Competition. I am so amazed and impressed with the behavior of all of the 130 teenagers, I just had to write a letter.

They deserve a huge pat on the back, not only for their incredible performances, but also for the respectful, polite and cheerful way that they represented Wood River High School. We were so proud to be associated with them. These kids work very hard at school, many of them showing up at 7 a.m. for music practice and staying after school for sports and other clubs.

Thank you also to Mr. Randall and Mr. Stimac for putting together such a wonderful trip for the kids. Your love and admiration for them shows, and they are so lucky to have you.
