Well, my favorite "ho-hum jerk" (her words, not mine), Pamela Campbell, is leaving on April 25. For anyone who's been incredibly lucky enough to meet and spend time with this genuinely compassionate and generous young woman, you know already what a tremendously positive and lasting effect she has had on everything and everyone.
She did volunteer work for A Hero's Welcome, the Wood River Ability Program, the U.S. Disabled Ski Championships at Soldier Mountain, 48 Straight and countless babysitting gigs, so I dare say a lot of people have met her by now.
Much like the people who meet that traveler in Sean Penn's very moving and memorable "Into the Wild," we all have come away a lot richer for the experience of knowing you, and I for one am having a lot of trouble remembering what my life was like before I met you, kiddo. Just hope you absolutely know how much Sandra, Marc, Kelly, Diane, etc. miss you already because there really aren't a plethora of people like you anywhere—let alone here in Idaho.
"Teddy" really struck the jackpot.
