On March 12, I had the pleasant experience (well, not really pleasant) of visiting St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center emergency room for stomach pains. I arrived about 10:30 p.m. and before I knew it, my appendix had been removed.
I wonder if local residents realize how fortunate we are to have this quality of care. There were no other patients waiting and I was treated like an honored guest. The doctors and nurses were kind, compassionate and caring. If I had been in any other emergency room, I would have had to wait for hours, plus I would I have been treated as a number.
I cannot remember all the names so I would just like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers who took care of me during my 27-hour visit.
