William D. Innes


William D. Innes, 66, producer of commercials and television programming, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at his home in Sun Valley, Idaho.

A resident of Sun Valley since 1952, Mr. Innes had been active for three decades in entertainment and community affairs. He became involved with the production of television variety, sports and commercials in the early 1960s. He was elected to the Sun Valley City Council, appointed to the Moritz Community Hospital board and the Sun Valley Planning and Zoning Commission, and served as the Sun Valley fire chief responsible for the development and implementation of the local joint ambulance/paramedic project. In 1976 he started his own production company, creating television pilots, motion pictures and specials for network distribution worldwide, and became a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Pease and Betty Stevenson Innes, of Wichita, Kan.; his brother, Walter Pease Innes III, of Stuart, Fla.; and his daughter, Tina Brown Innes, of Scottsdale, Ariz. Bill is survived by his wife, Sara Shealy Innes, and her three children, James Northcutt Walter III, John Philip Shealy Walter and Adele Elizabeth Walter; his sister-in-law, Nell Innes, of Stuart, Fla.; his nephews, Richard Innes, of Topeka, Kan., and Ron Innes, of Kansas City, Mo.; his niece, Shannon Innes Young, of Corvallis, Ore.; and his former wife, Shari Innes, of Scottsdale, Ariz.

A memorial is planned for July. Arrangements are under the care of Wood River Chapel of Hailey.
