SUFC kicks off the season in earnest

Competitive soccer teams representing Sawtooth United F.C. kicked off the season at the Performance Cup in Meridian, April 12-13. The tournament, hosted by the Boise Capitals Soccer Club, featured 185 teams in 18 different divisions, ranging in age from U-10 to U-18. The local club had 10 teams in attendance, which came away with six wins at the notoriously tough tournament.

The U-12 Navy team coached by Trey Knox and Jenni Conrad went 2-2 to finish in third place in the five-team bracket won by undefeated Twin Falls.

SUFC's U-14 girls, with coach Erika Connelly, shutout Twin Falls 2-0 to win the consolation title. Gillian Hatch's U-17 girls duplicated the feat with a 2-1 victory over Moscow in their final game. SUFC's U-13 boys and U-12 girls also cracked the win column.
