Grooming on the Galena Lodge and Harriman trails is scheduled to continue, weather and conditions permitting, until Sunday, April 20.

"The skiing this season has been incredible," said Eric Rector, Blaine County Recreation District trails director. "Although we had a late start, the snowfall has been tremendous and is allowing us to stretch the grooming a bit further into spring."

Trail grooming is still being done at Quigley Nordic east of Hailey, but for how long remained uncertain.

Grooming updates can be obtained at the grooming hotline, 578-XSKI, or at the recreation district's Web site, www.bcrd.org.

The district reported that 3,000 season passes and 5,000 day and week passes were sold this year.

"We are thrilled that so many residents and visitors use and love the trails," said Kris Stoffer, the district's director of marketing and development.

With the winter season coming to a close, residents are advised to start getting their mountain bikes and hiking boots ready.

"Warmer temperatures might spell the end of the nordic season, but there is still plenty to look forward to out on the trails this spring and summer," the district stated in a press release.
