The Sun Valley Food & Wine Festival, to be held June 6-8, has partnered with the Jean-Louis Palladin Foundation to bring three renowned chefs to the second annual event, in addition to the Food Network’s Iron Chef Cat Cora and Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek' Executive Chef John Tesar. Jimmy Sneed, Larbi Dahrouch and Anne Callaghan will all make an appearance in Sun Valley, and will demonstrate the preparation of dishes that put in them in an elite group of chefs.
The Jean-Louis Palladin Foundation was created in honor of the late Jean-Louis Palladin, who merged traditional ideas with progressive culinary innovation for over 18 years on the ever-changing menu at his eponymous restaurant at The Watergate, in Washington, D.C.
He had earned his reputation when his restaurant La Table des Cordeliers in Gascogne, France, earned two Michelin stars, making him the youngest chef to do so at 28 years old.
“It really will be a cultural exchange,” Palladin Foundation Executive Director Ann Brody Cove said of the partnership between the foundation and the Sun Valley Food & Wine Festival.
“We are thrilled to be connected to a foundation of this caliber,” Sun Valley-Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau Marketing Director Carrie Westergard said. “Their chefs will truly add a unique experience to the festival that is not to be missed.”
Chef Sneed studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, and worked for Palladin at the Watergate for five years. He is now executive chef at The Frog and the Redneck, in Richmond, Va. At the time of Palladin’s death in 2001, Sneed said he considered his restaurant a tribute to his mentor.

Moroccan-born Chef Dahrouch is also former protégé of Palladin, and was raised in Gascogne. He is executive chef at Agua at the One & Only Palmilla in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
Chef Callaghan served six years in the kitchens of MGM before going to work for Chef Charlie Palmer at Aureole Las Vegas in Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, where she is the sous chef and kitchen manager.
A complete schedule of events can be found at www.sunvalleyfoodandwinefestival.com. Tickets for the event are available by phone by calling (866) 305-9798, and beginning May 1 will be available online.
