The Blaine County Sheriff's Office released the names Monday of two people killed in a traffic accident last Thursday on state Highway 75 south of Bellevue.

Pronounced dead at the scene of the accident were 64-year-old Dennis Faulkner, of Gooding, and 8-month-old Sage Carpenter, of Eugene, Ore.

Thirty-one-year-old Jesse Carpenter, also of Eugene and a passenger in the vehicle driven by Faulkner, was listed in serious condition Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Her condition was downgraded from fair on Monday.

Blaine County Coroner Russell Mikel confirmed Tuesday that the woman was the mother of the infant killed in the accident and the daughter of Faulkner.

The accident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday north of the intersection of Highway 75 and U.S. Highway 20. The sheriff's office reported that Faulkner, driving a 2004 Toyota truck, was northbound when he lost control of the vehicle on the icy and wind-blown roadway and slid into the path of a tractor-trailer semi driven by Bryant L. Easton, of Kimberly, who was not seriously injured.
