The 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games has taken on three new staff members.

Daniel Faricy was named senior vice president of development, Jean Pierre "JP" Benlian was named director of corporate development and Lisa Fisher was named director of foundation and grant development.

"In order to produce an event of this magnitude, it is vital to have a strong infrastructure," said the games CEO Chip Fisher. "With the knowledge and experience each of these individuals brings to the table, I expect nothing less than the best from our recent additions to the games development team."

Faricy brings 20 years of experience in entrepreneurial executive management of company growth, sales development and marketing expertise, most recently with Wirestone LLC, a $24 million interactive marketing agency in Boise.

Benlian has more than 20 years experience with Xerox, Hewlett-Packard and other Fortune 500 companies. He has worked with complex distribution channels, including creating strategies for the launches of HP MFP product lines and HP pay-per-use services.

"His background and expertise provide an ideal complement to the games development team," Fisher said.

Prior to joining the games team, Lisa Fisher worked as an educator and administrator in private, independent and international schools, and as an educational consultant for nearly 15 years. A nationally board-certified teacher, she worked at Riverstone International School in Boise, the first International Baccalaureate School in Idaho, as director of the lower, middle and upper schools, director of college counseling and the assistant head of school. Fisher is the only recipient in Idaho's history of the National Association of Independent School's Aspiring Heads Fellowship.

Prior to her career in education, she worked in design, merchandising, production and sales for outerwear and eyewear companies both in the United States and Europe.

The 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games will be held in February 2009 at the Sun Valley Resort, Boise State University, Qwest Arena, Idaho Ice World Boise, Bogus Basin ski area and Tamarack Resort near Donnelly.
