WRHS track team debuts 2008 cinder season

Burley meet before spring break


Intermediate hurdles school record-holder Delaney Fox will lead the Wood River High School track and field team into its 2008 cinder season.

Wood River will get into its weekly competition schedule after spring break at the Jerome Invitational on March 28.

Head coaches this year are Mike Glenn for the Wolverine boys and J.C. Nemecek, girls.

Fox, making the grade in four events, was one of six Wolverines to qualify for last spring's 90th annual Idaho High School Track and Field Championships at Boise's Bronco Stadium. She placed second in intermediates at state.

Coach Nemecek is still waiting for winter sport athletes to come out for the sport, but this was the girls' roster he was working with last week:

Seniors—Natalie Hague (distances). Juniors—Delaney Fox (sprints, hurdles); Sam Johnson (sprints); and Amy Buchanan;

Sophomores—Grace Lagodich (sprints, hurdles); and Emily Matthews (sprints);

Freshmen—Jade Glenn; Jessica Martens (sprints); Crystal Millspaugh (distances); Brooke Bowers (distances); Tori Poole (sprints); Tanner Dredge (sprints, hurdles); Ashton Lupton (distances); Madison Tidwell (sprints, distances); Allie Hesteness (sprints, weights); and Crystal Ovard.

The 36 boys practicing for coach Glenn and the boys' coaches are:

Seniors—Matt Libert, Zach Lowry, Pedro Morales and Tyler Stocks. Juniors—Sam Colesworthy, Greg LeBlanc, James Mark, Dale McLaughlin, Robert Paris, Jed Prall, Will Spiller, Kyler Van Dyck and Anthony Williamson.

Sophomores—Tai Barrymore, Morgan Brashears, Chase Caulkins, Branden Condon, Zeb Glenn, Cody Phelps, Evan Puluti, Colton Seely, Brandon Vilcapoma, Taylor Walton and Tom Waters.

Freshmen—Jake Anderson, Josh Arters, John Batoletta, Kyson Chin, Tyler Condon, Juan deLoera, William Dugger, Miles Hendrix, Chris Isaacs, Jake Miczulski, Andrew Orr and James Paris.
