48 Straight and the ERC have joined forces to give people a volunteer opportunity to help "green the scene" and receive free music passes for their efforts.

48 Straight had approached the ERC to assist with the three-day Green Symposium, Tuesday, March 11, through Thursday, March 13, and the 48 Straight Basecamp Music Experience, Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15.

"It's a chance to see music for free," said ERC program director Dan Goldstein. "Volunteers will empty trash, run a recycle kiosk and take part in security activities, similar to events in the summer."

Volunteers will also take tickets and man doors for the Green Symposium. In addition, the ERC will have a booth at the Eco Alley Expo at Carol's Dollar Mountain Lodge on Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as at Warm Springs on Sunday, March 16, from 12 to 4 p.m.

"We will have information about our carbon footprint reduction program," Goldstein said. "People will be able to enroll, find out easy things to do and get a checklist and chart their progress toward reducing emissions."

For more information about volunteering call the ERC at 726-4333.
