In conjunction with its 12th annual Laura Evans Memorial Breast Cancer Symposium, Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research will hold a forum next week titled "New Therapeutic Approaches to Breast Cancer."

Free and open to the public, the presentation will be held Thursday, March 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Sun Valley Inn's Limelight Room C. The 2008 Open Forum is underwritten by a grant from the St. Luke's Wood River Foundation.

There will be two featured speakers. Dr. Daniel F. Hayes is clinical director of the Breast Oncology Program at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. His topic will be "Personalization of Breast Cancer Therapy: Getting the Right Treatment to the Right Patient."

Director of the Baylor Cancer Center and Breast Center, Dr. Kent Osborne is also professor of medicine and cellular and structural biology at Baylor College of Medicine. He will address "Advances in Therapies: Translating Laboratory Studies to the Clinic."

Both brief presentations will offer attendees insight into the latest developments in treatment alternatives.

The forum will also present "Meet the Experts" for all symposium participants to offer information regarding each of their areas of expertise, followed by a question-and-answer period.

Based in Ketchum, Expedition Inspiration holds treks, hikes and other activities to raise money for breast cancer research.
