Ski thieves in Sun Valley

On Feb. 21 at about 1:30 p.m. we left our equipment on the ski racks and went in for lunch at Warm Springs. At 2:30 my son's Rossignol Zenith Z9s and matching poles were missing. Similar skis with old mismatched poles were nearby. Simple mistake. The skis would be returned. Wrong.

We waited until 4 p.m., made reports, etc. and were told to leave the wrong equipment with a note and phone number on the rack. As we are leaving, my granddaughter who has been patiently waiting goes to pick up her board. Someone has switched out her board for a similar board with old, old bindings. Same drill—equipment left with note. On Friday, Feb. 22, we returned to the hill—somebody had stolen the equipment left overnight and ours was not returned.

So much for good old, safe Sun Valley. We have been skiing here for 30 years and I am appalled.
