Janice M. Schmidt, age 65, died on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, in Bullhead, Ariz., of an aneurysm.
She was born June 6, 1942, in Hailey, Idaho, the child of Lyle King Breneman and Avon Marie Sowers. Janice graduated from Hailey High School in 1960 and then attended Business College in Twin Falls. She married Harold Schmidt on May 4, 1968, in Hailey.
Janice was active in ranching at Deer Creek Ranch with her husband. She was a secretary in the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and she helped in Job's Daughters when her daughter Shawnna was a member.
Janice enjoyed traveling, most recently to Australia and New Zealand last spring. She spent time doing arts and crafts, putting her own spin of creativity into all her projects. She truly enjoyed hosting gatherings at their home.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, her daughter Shawnna Schmidt, and grandchildren Beckler Thomas and Tori Thomas, all of Hailey; her brother Stephen (Jessica) Breneman and their son Noah of Ketchum; her sister Judy Kindelberger, of Kuna, and her sons Chris and Kelly; her aunt Virginia Ivie; and several cousins. Those preceding her in death were her parents and her son Kevin Schmidt.
Memorial services were held on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at the Wood River Chapel in Hailey. Interment followed at the Hailey Cemetery.
