Women, Words and Wine

Iconoclast Books presents a new kind of book club: Women, Words and Wine. The club is open to the public, and will focus on thought-provoking books, author appearances, ideas for your own book club and naturally, women, words and wine. The first gathering will be Saturday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. with special guest Montana-based author Susanna Sonnenberg, author of "Her Last Death: A Memoir."

Of her first book, Michiko Kakutani wrote in a New York Times Book Review: "The wonder of this memoir is that the author survived her traumatic childhood and found a way of turning her memories into a fiercely observed, fluently written book that captures the chaos and confusions of her youth."

Then on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m., authors Laura Mack and Jennifer Kaufman will be in attendance to sign and discuss their new book "A Version of the Truth."

Set in the wilds of Topanga Canyon in Southern California, the story is narrated by Cassie Shaw, a nature lover with innate intelligence and charms who reinvents herself with unexpected consequences.

In addition to Women, Words and Wine, look for upcoming Open Mic nights, poetry slams, live music and more.

Iconoclast Books is located at 671 Sun Valley Rd. and in the Sun Valley village. For more information call 726-1564 in Ketchum or 622-8174 in Sun Valley.
