In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a Diversity Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Woodside Elementary in Hailey. The dinner is part of the ongoing "Be the Change" dialogue and community discussions sponsored by Youth Adult Konnections in partnership with Blaine County Probation, Wood River High School, Wood River Middle School and both schools' Parent Teacher Student Associations.
The dinner will be potluck and is open to everyone. Dishes should preferably highlight your background and ethnicity.
For several months, training and discussions have been held with students, parents and concerned community members as to the state of diversity within the Wood River Valley.
To address the issue, St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center has presented various panel discussions and training sessions focusing on topics such as intolerance, personal and social responsibility, abuse and acknowledging the positive assets already possessed by our community.
