Evan Richard Peebles, a 23-year-old Hailey man, was arrested on charges of simple battery, and obstructing and resisting arrest following a scuffle with bouncers at The Cellar Pub in Ketchum shortly after midnight Saturday.
Ketchum police were summoned to the bar on Sun Valley Road at 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 13 after workers asked Peebles to leave the premises and he allegedly refused.
Police spokeswoman Kim Rogers said Cellar employee John Riley Buck sustained a head injury while attempting to get Peebles out of the bar. Buck was taken to the emergency room at St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center where he received seven stitches to close a V-shaped gash on his forehead.
Peebles was arrested and taken to the Blaine County Jail. He was released from jail later Sunday after posting $900 bail.
Shortly after the Cellar incident, Hailey police were called to a fight at The Mint nightclub on Main Street in Hailey. Police Chief Jeff Gunter said investigative reports have been filed with the Blaine County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to determine if charges will be filed against several alleged participants.
Gunter said the fracas started when a woman complained that a man and woman were having sex in the women's bathroom. He said a verbal altercation started and turned to fisticuffs involving several bar patrons.
