Ketchum police arrested a 23-year-old Nevada man early Sunday morning after he allegedly assaulted a woman in the alley behind Whiskey Jacques' Restaurant & Nightclub.

"He (allegedly) put a bear hug on her and threw her on the ground," Ketchum Assistant Police Chief Mike McNeil said.

Police identified the man as Sean A. Weatherston of Zephyr Cove, a town on the southeast side of Lake Tahoe. McNeil said Weatherston was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor battery. He was released later that day from the Blaine County Jail after posting $300 bond.

Police were called to a disturbance behind the nightclub at 2:38 a.m.

McNeil said Weatherston and two other men were tipping over trash cans and scattering garbage when the alleged victim, a 37-year-old Hailey woman, and two of her friends told the men that their behavior was inappropriate and they should clean up their mess.

A verbal altercation apparently ensued. McNeil said the altercation became physical when Weatherston allegedly made sexual comments to the woman and grabbed her.

"He accosted her and put her down on the ground," McNeil said. "About that time, Sgt. Nathan Taylor showed up and placed him under arrest."

McNeil said the woman was not sexually assaulted.
