Tour Our Lady of the Snows

Teresa Gregory, parish life director, and the parish community will host four Tuesday evenings called "Built of Living Stones, Exploring the New Catholic Church," in Sun Valley at the new Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.

Everyone in the Wood River Valley community is welcome to attend. Meet in the main church from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2008. Explore the new church building and understand the reasons behind its design. Following each session, there will be a social hour downstairs. The sessions are designed for older children and adults. There is no registration fee.

For more information, contact the parish office at 622-3432. The church is located at 206 Sun Valley Road.

Cops to be out in force

Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter reminds New Year's Eve party folks that cops will be out in force that night on the lookout for drunk drivers.

"We will have more that double the officers out for New Year's Eve," Gunter said Wednesday. "We want to keep it a safe holiday."

Gunter said partygoers have been careful the last few years about drinking and driving on New Year's Eve, with only "one or two arrests throughout the county."

"That's good, and we'd like to keep it that way, so we're going to keep up the high visibility," he said.
