Twisters, girls play well in home tourney

Women?s hockey in Sun Valley

It was a good weekend of ice hockey for three Sun Valley teams during a home tourney at Sun Valley Skating Center. Visiting squads came from Boise, Idaho Falls and Salmon.

Local women's "C" team Sun Valley Twisters went 2-0 during the primarily U-19 girls' tournament. The Twisters MVP was center Dana Price.

Two U-19 girls' hockey teams competed and played incredibly well in front of the home crowd. The Sun Valley Black "A" squad went 1-1-1 over two days and the Sun Valley Red "B" team was 1-1 last weekend.

Sun Valley Black game jersey winner for the weekend was Ashley Hesteness. MVP awards went to Nellie Brown, Daniela Stokes, Hailey Zanes and Mattie Griswold.

Game puck winners for Sun Valley Red were Taylor Figge and Maddie Miller.

One highlight was special recognition for senior girls' captain Katie Pruett. She was honored along with her parents Dusty and Kathy Pruett. Katie, the only senior player the Lady Suns have had for a number of years, took home flowers, balloons and a new hockey stick.
