Lying liberals?

I feel the need to respond to Mr. Jauregui's recent letter regarding the gay agenda. His letter begins by stating that "the gay community will do or say anything to destroy any politician that does not support their sick political agenda." I didn't realize that asking for the same basic rights as he receives (job protection, housing protection, health insurance for loved ones, right to die for our country) was a sick political agenda. If the recent allegations against Sen. Larry Craig are found to be false, then he can hold his head up high and retain his position in Washington. If they are found to be true, then I would hope he would own up to his indiscretions, like numerous other political leaders have (both Democrat and Republican).

As for the last paragraph of his letter, I am deeply offended by the allegation that gay people are flawed, and therefore compromise national security and are community health risks. If gay men and women would be allowed to serve in the military openly, then there would be no chance of blackmail and security risk. How many secrets have been revealed by our heterosexual operatives? As for community health, I can only assume that he is referring to AIDS. If this is the case, then he needs to do some research—AIDS is not a gay disease. How does he explain the almost 200,000 women living with the disease? According to the CDC, 80 percent of these women contract it through heterosexual sex (19 percent through drug use, 1 percent through other).

Liberals have not been lying to us any more than conservatives have. Gays and lesbians serve openly in military organizations all over the world, and the national security of those countries has not been compromised. Gay marriage is legal in several countries, and their societies have not fallen. It seems to me that it is the hypocritical conservatives that are lying to us as they pontificate about defending marriage while having affairs and getting divorces from their second and third spouses.
