For those looking for "howling-good" gift ideas, the 2007 Barkin' Basement Bow-Wow Holiday Bazaar is the place to be. The unique holiday sale will feature plenty of holiday cheer with refreshments and special gift ideas, from "white elephant" gifts to ornaments and holiday décor, plus much more on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at 111 S. Main St. in Hailey.

"It is basically an opportunity for us to put out our holiday goodies and have the community celebrate the holidays with us," said Barkin' Basement's Kate Lombardi. "We will have goodies, snacks and trees for sale, and all of our holiday-theme donations we have ever gotten. There is amazing stuff at incredible prices."

If you have not been to the Barkin' Basement in some time, you may want to check out some of the new changes the staff has been creating to give customers better products and service.

"It's affordable and for a great cause," Lombardi said. "We will have lots of decorations, and we might have a couple of games—feel free to bring your pets."

Lombardi said it's a great time for the animal-loving community to come to the Barkin' Basement and share their stories and why they support the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley. All of the proceeds from the Barkin' Basement Bow-Wow Bazaar benefit the shelter. A preview of the merchandise will start at 10 a.m.

In addition, the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley will hold its annual Santa Paws fund-raising event on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Dirty Beagle in Hailey. Santa Paws is an opportunity to take a photo with your favorite pet and Santa Claus for $20 a picture.
